Meaningful Vocation

At Newton Dee, we believe that learning a vocation is about more than just acquiring skills, it’s about discovering purpose, building confidence, and creating a strong sense of identity.

Our identity should not be defined by limitations but by what each person can do, allowing everyone to contribute meaningfully to the community. We encourage individuals to focus on a specific vocation, which allows them to develop expertise and master lifelong skills. Whether it’s baking, farming, joinery, or gardening, we help each person find the right path and provide the support they need to reach their full potential.

Our community is home to a variety of social enterprises, where the people we support and co-workers collaborate to produce high-quality goods and services:

Much of what we produce is sold in our Café and used within our house communities. By engaging in meaningful work, every individual has the opportunity to be productive, to give back, and to live a life of purpose and fulfilment.

Highly regarded Bakery & Confectionery, producing organic bread and cakes.

Metal Workshop, crafting copper and brass items.

Toyshop, making traditional wooden toys and kitchenware.

Farms & Market Gardens, growing fresh produce, raising cows, pigs, and sheep.

Estate Team, caring for Newton Dee’s beautiful grounds.

Store & Café, serving the wider community with organic food, handmade crafts, and homemade meals.

Newton Dee Dairy, opened in October 2024, producing fresh milk and cheese, and we hope, yoghurt, butter, and ice cream, in the near future!

Phoenix Art & Crafts Studio, new in March 2025, offering creative opportunities for all.
