Work with us. Make a difference.
Everyone needs opportunities to fulfil their potential and have a rewarding life. That is also important for those with learning disabilities and other special needs, for them the opportunities can often be limited.
Our community life is based on mutual respect and support for each other. This creates opportunities for everyone in terms of growth and fulfilment.
As well as creating opportunities for those with special needs, this offers opportunities to those who work alongside, offering essential support. By making a difference in the lives of others, you could make a difference in your life too. Work with us at Newton Dee for a year, or for a lifetime.
Co-workers work to enable those with special needs to fulfil their potential. That means giving support at home, in our gardens, farms and craft workshops, and by involvement in our social, cultural and educational activities.
The work isn’t simply ‘care’. Some individuals with special needs who live in our Community are able to do much for themselves. The role of co-workers is more as ‘enablers’. Co-workering creates an environment that supports those with special needs to accomplish much in their lives, which might otherwise be difficult or impossible.
As part of its commitment to training, in partnership with the University of Aberdeen, Camphill offers to successful applicants, a chance to participate in the four year BA Programme in Curative Education . Newton Dee also provides induction training and a Foundation Course.
